Hello again. I'm Star9 and something else has been playing on my head between College & rounds of Gears of War 2 on Xbox360.
The current recession across the world's economies has got me thinking...
America has a new president, the first member of a racial minority to ever achieve such a feat. But is it fair to believe that he is the voice of hope for nations of people the world over?
With the recession set to have such a dramatic effect on the entire world in the coming few years, it is possible to say that although Obama represents a voice of change, he cannot change the most negative aspects of the US today.
Living in the UK i am somewhat separated from US government goings-on, but I understand that the US government is in literally trillions of US$s of debt. Now call me a pessimist, but how is Obama supposed to rectify such a horrendous issue?
I'm just slightly scared that people will blame his inability to correct this problem on a personal issue or just plain claim he was the wrong man for the job, and this is going to lead to an increase in racial prejudice which will have shockwaves across the globe.
To conclude I think that when, not if, this problem comes about, the educated few among us who Id like to refer to as the 'opressed illuminati', need to bring to the attention of the masses the issue that this was not a mistake Obama made, but one made by those who have stood in his shoes all the way back to the Reagan era.
Enough of that though, Im a 17 year old student from London, I dont know why Im bothered. But it will affect every one of us and we'd be blind not to admit it.
Thoughts?
